Ricardo Lopez - Playing God

Lately I’ve been working on a number of personal assignments, one of which is a project named Ricardo Lopez. The finished piece is a short concept EP from the point of view of Ricardo. I wrote a number of songs but scrapped most of them, and for the past three or four days I’ve made a fresh start and re-done everything.
Here is a video for the first track from the EP. The vocals were written and recorded last night and the video was put together directly afterward.

Ricardo Lopez is most famed or perhaps most remembered as ‘the Bjork stalker’. During the year of 1996, Ricardo manufactured a letter bomb which he sent to Bjork and committed suicide shortly after it was sent. He filmed the final months of his life and left behind almost 18 hours worth of footage. The video I’ve created above has been edited down from those 18 hours.
I am certain I will write at length about this project when I post the full EP. My reasoning behind it, the effect it had on me, my reluctance to carry it out and perhaps my ideas on Ricardo himself, but I will spare most of that now. It is a very difficult task to write as somebody else, it is particularly challenging when you share directly opposing views as the person you are becoming in the work.
