My cousin, Patrick is leaving to go back to Canada tomorrow morning, so I had to say my goodbyes this morning. He gave me another notebook last night, so naturally tonight I felt like I should try to make a quick drawing of him in the first page. I haven’t drawn somebody else or made a drawing like this in so long, but it was nice. It was very quick and it’s just pencil and pen. Get your zoom on.A lot of the best times I’ve had over the past 10 months have been hanging out with Patrick, so I’m definitely really sad to see him go. But I’m delighted he’s getting back to Canada finally and getting back to his life over there. Hopefully it won’t be another five years before I see him again. I’ll make sure it’s not! Trying to avoid writing a massive post here, but just, he’s without a doubt one of the most generous and understanding people I’ve ever known. A drawing doesn’t acknowledge that really, but it’ll be nice to see it and be reminded each time I use the notebook. That quote about being able to pick your friends but not your family is hard to avoid here because I think I’m just pretty fucking lucky to have some incredible friends and some wonderful family and when a person covers both of those categories it’s something worth celebrating and holding on to. I definitely sound like 99% of the posts I hate on here. Haha. Whatever sure.FAMILY! TOP FUCKING NOTCH!
